Seniors Open

SeeMore putters attend the Seniors Open at Royal Porthcawl on Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th July.

With professional players being given the opportunity to try the range of putters available and the putter that won the 2015 Open and been in play with that player since 2004, the simplicity of the method and instant feedback the putter is able to give on set up is second to none and many of the Pro's liked this approach.

Interest from many players for the putter and the Rosemark grips saw the days to be very busy.  Head Professional Andrew Reynolds from Royal Cinq Ports ordered an mFGP DF with the new 1.38 Rosemark Grip for example.  As a current SPi centre for Seemore Andrew is keen to put a the putter into play himself  and feels the method will help him and his members get the best out of their games.

SeeMore to attend The Open

SeeMore Putters will be attending the practice days of The Open at Royal Birkdale on 17-19 July.

Royal Birkdale hosting The Open for the tenth time and will welcome the world’s greatest golfers to one of the sport’s most renowned and challenging venues.

2015 Champion Zach Johnson once considered one of the most underrated players in golf earned his place amongst the all-time greats of the game which was sealed with a play-off victory at St Andrews.

The 39-year-old from Iowa capped off a wild week at the home of golf by sinking challenging putts on the first and second to finish one shot clear of 2010 Champion Louis Oosthuizen of South Africa and three ahead of Aussie Marc Leishman over four extra holes. It brought to a close one of the most memorable Opens in recent history, which saw the world’s best players scrambling right to the finish to claim the historic Claret Jug. Torrential rain closed the Old Course on Friday before gale-force winds stopped play on Saturday, resulting in only the second Monday finish in the history of The Open. It was Johnson who outlasted it all – the weather, the charging competition, and the storied Old Course – becoming only the sixth man to win both the Masters Tournament and The Open at St Andrews, joining Jack Nicklaus, Sam Snead, Seve Ballesteros, Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods. Johnson struck just 15 putts over the first 12 holes of this final round, before nailing a 22-footer on the 72nd hole to complete a closing six-under-par 66 and finish on 15-under alongside Oosthuizen and Leishman. His subsequent play-off victory secured his place in golf’s pantheon as the 2015 Champion Golfer of the Year. "I'm grateful. I'm humbled. I'm honoured," Johnson said. "This is the birthplace of the game, and that Jug means so much in sports."

It was the latest achievement for Johnson, who earned his Green Jacket at Augusta in 2007 and has earned 12 victories on the PGA TOUR. A multi-sport athlete in his youth, he played for the Drake University golf team before setting records on the Nationwide Tour in 2003 for scoring average and money earned to secure his PGA TOUR card the following season. He has appeared on the United States Ryder Cup side four times and is the only player alongside Phil Mickelson to have twice shot a round of 60 on the PGA TOUR.
